The first-year Primal/MapMyRIDE Professional Women's Racing powered by BH Bikes team claimed a second place overall general classification team finish and put two riders in the top 10 overall during last weekend's Tour of the Gila.
Emily Kachorek finished sixth in overall GC and Nicole Evans was 10th in the strong field of more than 50 professional riders. Primal/MapMyRIDE guest rider Kristen LaSasso also notched a second place finish in the race's second stage.
"The girls were fabulous and did great in this super hard race," said Primal/MapMyRIDE Team Director Susannah Gordon. "Emily worked hard in the breakaway during the road race on Sunday and it stuck to the finish. I was so proud of all the girls."
The Primal/MapMyRIDE team is divided for a stretch of racing that has riders competing across the country. This week, team members Megan Hottman, Tiffany Pezzulo, Liza Rachetto and Nicky Wangsgard are competing in the USA Crits Speed Week, a seven-race challenge that takes place across three states in the Southeast.
Meanwhile, Kasey Clark, Evans and Kachorek will be joined by guest riders Julie Emmerman and LaSasso at the Joe Martin Stage Race in Arkansas May 5-8.
