Eneko Llanos, Mario Mola and Nicola Spirig had fantastic races this weekend at the Mooloolaba ITU World Cup triathlon and the Melbourne Ironman Asia Pacific Championships.

Mario and Nicola both raced in Mooloolaba, during the opening round of the ITU World Cup. Mario had an excellent race, having an excellent bike leg, and led the run section of the race briefly. Ultimately settling into 4th, Mario showed his form is getting ready for the Olympics- very promising, indeed.
Nicola Spirig, of Switzerland, had an incredible race in Mooloolaba- finishing the race in second pace. Nicola was seen many times leading the bike leg of the race. In the end, Nicola raced to a very encouraging 2nd place in this Olympic qualifier event. Nicola is off to a great start this year and will be a tough competitor at the Olympics.
Just a few weeks after finishing 3rd in the Abu Dhabi International Triathlon, Eneko finished 4th in Melbourne and punched his ticket for Kona! Eneko was in the lead group nearly the entire day until disaster struck 30km into the 42.2km run. "I was fourth at the end of a really tough marathon. I hit the wall at the 30km mark. Getting back on track wasn’t easy. Good race. Secured Kona slot", Eneko Tweeted shortly after the race.
BH athletes are setting the pace across the globe. The Olympics and Kona are going to be quite exciting this year.
